VOLUNTEERS
We can always use volunteers. If you have special talents that we could use, let us know.
If you just want to be around fun people and events, you’ve come to the right place!
We need volunteers for the following positions:
Music Series
• Two volunteers each Friday to set up and breakdown equipment, seating, etc.
Art Committee
• Two volunteers each Friday during the music series to help set up and breakdown the featured artist’s work
House Concerts
• Three volunteers for each concert to sell and take tickets at the door, sell baked goods and direct guests where to park.
Historical/Documentary Committee
• Photographers
• Researchers to comb archives at the Southern Historical collection at UNC
• Exhibitors to decide how to archive and display historic material
• Oral history and live review interviewers
• Collectors to help locate more photos and historical artifacts to archive at the General Store
• Transcribers for recorded interviews
• Scrapbookers to display articles and photos from the various events
Operations Committee
• Six + volunteers for a building committee
• Six + volunteers for a grounds keeping committee
• Volunteers for the Bynum Front Porch Work Days
• Eight + volunteers to mow the grounds
• Volunteers to pick up recycling and trash on Saturday mornings, etc.
Executive Committee
• CPA for 1-2 hours a month to assist in maintaining financial records.
• Lawyer needed 1-2 hours a month to provide ongoing counsel and to assist with 501c3 paperwork.
• Community outreach volunteers to disseminate Bynum Front Porch info at community events such as ClydeFest (April) and Pittsboro Street Fair (October). Two to four hour intervals.
• Saturday Morning Sitters to open and staff the Bynum General Store from 9 am to 2 pm for visitors. Volunteers are needed for every second and third Saturday of each month.
Children’s Programming Committee
• Children entertainers (storytellers, arts and crafts leaders or musicians) during the music series events each Friday night from 7 pm to 8 pm from May to September.
